Summary
Community Outreach Volunteers with work with the Community Outreach Manager (C.O.M.) to carry out varied and important duties within the areas of outreach and information services, helping Lupus of Nevada, Inc. to build a strong network of supportive services in our community.
Job assignments may include:
Assistance with publicity and in the field
Target health and others medical areas with flyers and brochures
Maintain Mailing list of outside in field contacts
Assistance with health fairs and other tasks related to exhibits
Set up and break down of events
Ask attendees at events and support group meetings to sign-in as appropriate documentation for Lupus of Nevada, Inc. mailing lists
Distribution of reproduction of flyers and other informational material in the community
Other duties as assigned
Skills desired:
Gather information from Lupus packets given to reach a high number of the general public regarding Lupus and at community events.
Flexible hours desirable, ability to work evenings and/or weekends a plus.
Ability to physically help with setting up chairs and other duties requiring physical stamina/strength at outside events in the community regarding Lupus of Nevada, Inc.
Supervision and hours
The C.O.M. will schedule and supervise the work of volunteers. In addition an exit interview will be completed by the Outreach volunteers to assist Lupus of Nevada. Since volunteers will have key assignments at events it is very important that they are dependable and arrive on time for their shifts. In the event of illness it is asked that volunteers strive to give 24-hour notice if they will not be able to work their volunteer shift. Volunteers will be asked to make commitment to complete hours required while volunteering in the field for Lupus of Nevada, Inc.
